Provost Russell L. Moore has named Michele S. Moses associate vice provost for Faculty Affairs.
Moses currently is working part-time in the post, assisting Vice Provost and Associate Vice Chancellor Jeff Cox in managing personnel processes鈥攕pecifically, chairing the Vice Chancellor's Advisory Committee (VCAC). She will also be assisting in handling faculty personnel decisions and processes from hiring to retirement.
鈥淚 am delighted that Michele has joined the Academic Affairs team in this vital role,鈥 said Moore. 鈥淗er excellence as a faculty member has given her a keen appreciation for the needs of faculty and for the ways in which VCAC, and the other work within the Academic Affairs, supports those needs.鈥
Over the course of the next year, Moses will engage with other members of the Office of Faculty Affairs on matters related to the many policies and processes managed by the unit, including Program Review, faculty development programs and faculty data.
鈥淔aculty Affairs will benefit from this significant help from a distinguished faculty member, and Professor Moses will have an opportunity to experience the work of central academic administration,鈥 said Cox.
Moses joined the CU 麻豆影院 faculty in 2005 as associate professor and in 2011 was promoted to full professor. She has served on the VCAC. She has most recently served as associate dean for graduate studies in the School of Education, where, among many accomplishments, she is credited with pioneering its Faculty Mentoring Program.

Moses is the 2016 recipient of the Hazel Barnes Prize, the largest and most prestigious single faculty award funded by CU 麻豆影院. She has also been a Fulbright New Century Scholar studying access to higher education in Brazil and a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association.
She received her PhD听in educational foundations, policy and practice in 1999 from CU 麻豆影院 and an MA in philosophy from the university in 1998. She also holds a master鈥檚 degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of Vermont.
