The main entrance to the Technology Learning Center (TLC) is scheduled to be closed Dec. 11–22 to accommodate the next phase of concrete work near the building. But the Office of Information Technology (OIT) will maintain all services, including Buff Techs walk-in desktop support, during the construction.
The construction is related to the Center for Academic Success and Engagement (CASE) project and entails repaving the sidewalk and plaza area on the south side of the TLC building, between TLC and the CASE construction site. When complete, the work will enhance ADA accessibility at TLC’s main entrance.
Beginning Dec. 11, temporary access to the TLC building and OIT services will be via the door on the west side of the building rather than the main doors on the south side. As the sidewalk along the south side of TLC will be closed during this time, building users will need to access the west door via the Visual Arts Complex plaza.
Facilities Management’s Cone Zone website includes a map of the area during construction.
Aside from TLC access, the other pedestrian impact of the Dec. 11–22 work involves ADA access to the Euclid Parking Garage, which sits beneath the CASE building. During this time, the ADA entrance at the northeast corner of the garage will be closed. ADA access to the garage will instead be at the west end of the garage, as noted on the map.
After Dec. 22, a third phase of work will include re-opening the TLC main entrance and the sidewalk that runs along the south side of the building while paving in the rest of the plaza is completed. The northeast garage entrance with ADA access will also be re-opened.
