For the fourth year in a row, CU 麻豆影院 has maintained its No. 2 ranking in geosciences among the world鈥檚 universities, according to U.S. News & World Report, which last week released its fourth annual for 2018.
Overall, CU 麻豆影院 is the No. 44 top university in the world among 1,250 institutions. While the No. 44 ranking is down from No. 32 in 2017, it is up from No. 48 in 2016 and No. 58 in 2015.
Geosciences, in which CU 麻豆影院 trails only the California Institute of Technology, is considered the study of Earth, from its structure to the history of its formation. Studies in the field of geosciences include geology, geophysics, geochemistry, climatology, oceanography and petroleum geology.
Also in the top 50 or better globally, CU 麻豆影院 ranks No. 44 in biology and biochemistry; No. 24 in environment/ecology (up from No. 26 in 2017); No. 32 in physics; and No. 51 in space science.
In the top 100 or better globally, CU 麻豆影院 ranks No. 94 in neuroscience and behavior,听No. 86 in psychiatry/psychology and No. 97 in social sciences and public health.
These subject-specific rankings鈥攚hich are not of academic majors, departments or specific schools at universities鈥攁re based on academic research performance in those subjects.听
