On campus and in the community, it is important to be considerate of others. One of the unintentional ways you can impact people around you is through excessive noise. Check out the noise policies听for CU 麻豆影院's residence halls and the city of 麻豆影院 below.

Residence halls

In the residence halls, quiet hours are 10听p.m. to 8听a.m.听Sunday through Thursday and听midnight to 8 a.m.听Friday and Saturday.听In addition, courtesy hours begin at 8 a.m. and end at 10听p.m. Sunday through Thursday and are in place from 8 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Consider stepping into the hallway to hear how loud your room sounds or ask your neighbors if they can hear music or other potentially disruptive noise coming from your room.

City of 麻豆影院

In the city of 麻豆影院, you may be ticketed for unreasonable noise between 11 p.m. and听7 a.m. if it is loud enough to be heard from 100 or more feet away.

Friday, Saturday: 8 a.m. to midnight

City of 麻豆影院 quiet hours
Sunday鈥揝aturday: 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Additionally, you can be ticketed for a nuisance party during a social gathering with one or more illegal things occurring at once, including noise, underage drinking, brawling, public urination, littering or trash, etc. Finally, you can be ticketed for disrupting the quiet enjoyment of a home when noise or disruption materially interferes with another individual in their own home.

If you live off campus, you should introduce yourself to your neighbors and communicate if you plan to host a party in advance. Consider sharing your contact number so neighbors can have the option to reach you before calling the police.听

CU 麻豆影院 students also can register a Friday- or Saturday-night party with to receive a 20-minute warning if a noise complaint is made on your party.

Students who are documented in the residence halls or off campus for violating the noise policy may be referred to the and/or the 麻豆影院 Municipal Court. For more information about noise, please email听studentconduct@colorado.edu.
