Jupiter's Great Red SpotCU 麻豆影院 professor Fran Bagenal of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) can talk about tonight鈥檚 flyby of NASA鈥檚 Juno spacecraft over Jupiter鈥檚 Great Red Spot.

鈥淭he feature is actually a giant storm larger than Earth that has been blowing in the 麻豆影院 atmosphere for hundreds of years,鈥 said Bagenal, a Juno mission co-investigator. 鈥淭he orbiting spacecraft will skim several thousand miles over the Great Red Spot, using instruments that let scientists peer beneath the cloud tops.鈥
