When it comes to digital content, accessibility is not just for the visually impaired or individuals with hearing loss. Accessible digital content and design improves usability for everyone, increases your website SEO (search engine optimization) and expands your audience reach.
June's session will feature a discussion on "How to Run a Digital Health Check" to ensure your content鈥攚hether for your website, eCommunications or online course materials鈥攊s accessible and usable. The event will be held from noon to 1听p.m. Monday, June 26.听
Presented by Joanna Bertrand, director of web communications in the Office of Strategic Relations, and Dan Jones, chief digital accessibility officer in the Office of Information Technology, the presentation will focus on actionable items you can use to make sure your digital content is compliant with the campus accessibility policy.听
The timely presentation will help you understand your role and responsibility for accessible content and听why it鈥檚 important. Most importantly, you will walk away with strategies and best practices for creating accessible content.
During the hour session, there will be ample time for audience Q&A听to allow for a full understanding of policies and resources in place.听Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to participate in networking and are welcome to bring a lunch. Light refreshments will be provided.
