Chancellor Phillip DiStefanoAs you may have heard, a small group of ardent students who are advocating for a fossil-free investment portfolio for the university has been visiting with us in the chancellor's office for the past week.

On Wednesday, I provided a letter of support to them for their civil discourse and nonviolent approach. I have encouraged them to continue to engage with the Board of Regents, who have the responsibility for directing the investments.

Civil discourse and engagement are hallmarks of the campus experience, and I applaud these students for being passionate about their beliefs.

Phillip P. DiStefano,
Chancellor
