Hello everyone! The time has come to buckle down and study hard for your exams. Good luck to you all, and to those of you that are graduating this month, congrats on your last college exams! Time really does fly. I am Sarah Ellsworth: IPHY major, 麻豆影院 native, and event connoisseur, writing to you from the comfort of beautiful CU 麻豆影院 on all of your weekly opportunities for community involvement, educational whatnot and supreme fun. Texas Hold'em tournament.听Are you considered by many to be a card shark? Do you excel at poker? Then come put your skills to use in The Connection听at 7 p.m. in a free Texas Hold鈥檈m poker tournament, open to everyone. Be sure to sign up at the front desk and if you do well you could win some excellent prizes.

Fun before finals.听Come and celebrate the听annual tradition of blowing off some steam with the Dennis Small Cultural Center before sitting your final exams. From 4 to 8 p.m.听there will be free food, arts and crafts, games听and even a magic show all for your enjoyment and relaxation. This free party will go down in UMC 204 so don鈥檛 miss out on the DSCC鈥檚 last event of the semester!

Grad Bash 2017.听If you鈥檙e one of those lucky people that gets to be a proud graduate of CU 麻豆影院 this May, then your time has come to attend Grad Bash. At the Koenig Alumni Center听from 4 to 8 p.m. there will be free food and drinks for grads (bring your ID) as well as a DJ and tons of friends! Be sure to RSVP online in advance. Grad Bash

Rogue One听蝉肠谤别别苍颈苍驳.听Come and see Rogue One: A Stars Wars Story听for free in Chem 140 at 8 p.m. Rogue One is my new favorite movie, with adventure, an unusual plotline听and one of the most incredibly subtle love stories I鈥檝e ever seen. In short, it鈥檚 awesome! Just remember to bring your Buff OneCard and May the Fourth be with you.听

Two Polar Explorers: Disaster and Success with听Doug Duncan.听Join polar explorer, Doug Duncan for a fascinating discussion of the notable Sir John Franklin and Fritdjof Nansen, two arctic explorers famously lost and recently rediscovered in the ice. Fiske Planetarium hosts this event from 7 to 8 p.m.听and tickets are $7 for students.

Beethoven鈥檚 Symphony No. 9.听The 麻豆影院 Chamber Orchestra brings you a masterpiece to end their 13th听season: Beethoven鈥檚 Ninth, the readily recognizable and much beloved world classic. Catch this incredible performance in Macky Auditorium听at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $20 and are well worth it to hear this musical magnum opus.

Saturday, May 6

MLIMA with听Dandu at Fiske.听Join the funkadelic MLIMA and Dandu for a super sweet live concert in Fiske Planetarium听from 10 p.m. to 1a.m. MLIMA will take听you on a musical experience through your heart and mind. Combining funk, rock, jazz听and blues, MLIMA is not to be missed! Tickets are $15.

Go global.听If you鈥檝e ever dreamt of working abroad as a globetrotting citizen of the world, raising a cosmopolitan family in a foreign setting, or just jetting out and living somewhere new in your world, then this forum is for you. From 2 to 5 p.m. in the Imig Chamber Music Hall, a slew of global ambassadors representing a myriad of nations and industries will be present to discuss fostering your global life. This event is free and ice cream will be offered.

Late Night Breakfast.听Ever get that midnight snack craving and wish CU would provide you with free breakfast food? Well your wishes have been granted听with Late Night Breakfast, the annual free food giveaway and fun game social hour that occurs in the UMC Alfred Packer Grill from 10 to 11 p.m. Come load up your plate with all of your favorite breakfast foods and take a break from studying for your finals.

Hit the books in Norlin.听Your trusty university main library, otherwise known as Norlin, is here for you. All week it will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily for your quiet-place studying needs. Find a good study spot and guard it with your life because it鈥檚 guaranteed to be crowded, yet promises to also be silent as the grave. The Laughing Goat will also be open late for your emergency caffeinating needs.
