Hello to all of you scholars! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break and refilled your motivation tank. There鈥檚 not long left in the semester now, so push through and finish strong. I am Sarah Ellsworth: IPHY major, 麻豆影院 native, and event connoisseur, writing to you from the comfort of beautiful CU 麻豆影院 on all of your weekly opportunities for community involvement, educational whatnot and supreme fun. Register for classes.听鈥楾is once again the season to begin registering for classes. Starting this week (April 3) and continuing on through the end of the month, registration will be open for next semester鈥檚 classes. Check out MyCUInfo for your registration date and stick to it so you don鈥檛 lose your first choice classes!

Tuesday, April 4

Rooted: Reproductive Justice.听Come to the Dennis Small Cultural Center in UMC 204听for a lively academic discussion of reproductive justice- what it means, what ethical questions exist around it, and how it may affect you. In this time of important healthcare debates and uncertainty about the future, this discussion is now more relevant than ever. This event takes place from 4:30 to 6 p.m.听and all are invited.

Talk 麻豆影院 Tuesday: Stress relief.听In this our time of stressful midterms, opportunities for stress relief are precious few. Take advantage of the free Talk 麻豆影院 Tuesday听in the C4C Dining Room from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There will be free chair massages, arts and crafts, tons of food, and ample opportunity to decompress over dinner with friends.

Fools for a Day.听Catch the annual Fools for a Day Award ceremony, which honors father and daughter Ian and Cora Frazier, humorists for The New Yorker, and the idea that humor may be one of the most effective methods of making a serious point and sparking an important discussion. Come one and all to this free event in the Old Main Chapel at 6:30 tonight, which will undoubtedly be full of comedy. Fools for a Day

Branch Out: Scheherazade听film screening.听Be sure to catch tonight鈥檚 free screening of Scheherazade, an engrossing and inspiring film about women鈥檚 rights, journalism听and political turmoil in Egypt. See the movie in UMC 204 at 5 p.m.听and bring some popcorn. All are welcome.听

Thursday, April 6

Engaged Scientist Series public lecture.听Join with your fellow science enthusiasts and aficionados to discuss science as culture, examine case studies, and consider community dilemmas. This lecture will be held in Eckeley S274 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Be sure to register online in advance.

New Venture Challenge Championship.听After months of brainstorming, envisioning and bringing their ideas to light, five teams have made it to the New Venture Challenge Championship.听On the line are recognition, $25,000 in prizes, and a $50,000-investment prize backed by some of 麻豆影院's most notable entrepreneurs. This is an energetic, fun-filled event and opportunity to see the CU 麻豆影院 entrepreneurial spirit in action.听The ninth annual championship will be held at the University of Colorado Law School and is open to the campus and the public. Doors open at 5 p.m.听听will close at 9 a.m. on Thursday, though walk-in registration is welcome.听

Karaoke Night.听If you鈥檝e got the heart of a lion, then get up on Club 156鈥檚 stellar stage tonight and belt out your favorite karaoke tunes with their top of the line sound system. Karaoke is free tonight staring at 8 p.m., and The Connection is right next door so you can bowl, shoot pool, or grab a bite to eat while you鈥檙e there as well! Whether you sing or not, come enjoy the fun and listen to some questionably good music.

Basics of Colorado gardening workshop.听If you鈥檙e struggling to cultivate a flourishing garden in this dry Colorado climate, then come by the Flemming Idea Forge from 1 to 5 p.m.听for a free gardening workshop. You will cover all the basics and learn some skills for gardening sustainably and in an environmentally friendly manner in our own Colorado soil.

I Love Mondays.听No, it鈥檚 not a joke. Mondays are cool! Every Monday, the Center for Student Involvement presents a fun hour to make your Mondays worth doing. From 2 to 3 p.m.听in the UMC North Dining Room you can get together with friends and make and eat mini pizzas for free. Start your week off right!
