Hello friends! We are counting down the days until spring break and enjoying some fabulous weather this week with some fun events. I am Sarah Ellsworth: IPHY major, 麻豆影院 native, and event connoisseur, writing to you from the comfort of beautiful CU 麻豆影院 on all of your weekly opportunities for community involvement, educational whatnot and supreme fun. Open Mic Night.听If you think you鈥檙e a fabulous poet, singer, comedian, magician, etc., you can test that theory听at 4:30 p.m. in UMC 204 at the Dennis Small Cultural Center鈥檚 Open Mic Night. Bring your original performance and your courage and get up there and show everyone how talented you really are!
Humans vs. Zombies.听It鈥檚 finally back! Humans vs. Zombies is CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 favorite weeklong game, running March听20-24,听9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. The arena includes the entire campus and bandanas signify team loyalty. Choose a side, register online, arm yourself with socks and marshmallows, and try to survive! You can find the rules of play on the website.

Rooted Film Screening: 13th.听The Dennis Small Cultural Center hosts a free movie day from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.听in UMC 204. They will be screening the film 13th, which centers on the American racial divide, particularly in prisons, which see disproportionally high percentages of African American inmates. Take some time in your afternoon to come learn about this听issue.
Bubble Ball Soccer.听If you鈥檝e ever walked by a game of bubble soccer and thought, 鈥淲ow, that looks amazingly fun,鈥 then your time has come. Come to the indoor turf field of the Rec Center听at 5 p.m., put on your big plastic human bubble and get in the game! This event is free and open to all students with a Buff OneCard.
Vandana Shiva: Eco-Social Justice on the Global Frontlines.听Few mortals are as cool as Vandana Shiva: physicist, author, activist, Right Livelihood Award Winner and one of Forbes Magazine鈥檚 Seven Most Powerful Women on the Globe. Come and hear her speak about environmental activism and food justice in the Glenn Miller Ballroom from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring your questions!

Mtnmen with听Sam Kahn and Mac Bradley.听Join SoCal musical producers Mtnmen for a free concert听in Club 156 at 7:30 p.m. Mtnmen throw down some excellent electronic tunes, so bring your dancing shoes and get down with your friends.
Ralphie鈥檚 Cooking Basics.听For those of you cuisine illiterate Buffs who听would like to right that wrong, there is Ralphie鈥檚 Cooking Basics, every Thursday at 5:15 p.m. by the Alfred Packer Grill. This week you will be making the delicious hybrid known as Apple Pie Croissants- the deep end of the culinary pool. But fear not! Your skilled cooking instructors will be there to help at every step of the recipe. Remember to wear close-toed shoes.

Flash Mountain Flood concert.听Swing by Fiske Planetarium听at 10:30 p.m. for an out of this world concert by local band Flask Mountain Flood. These epic rockers will听perform听live accompanied by Fiske鈥檚 legendary lasers, lights听and graphics, so don鈥檛 miss out. Tickets are $12.
Extreme Bowling.听Crazy lights and colors, disco balls, up-beat music听and a healthy heightened dose of competition make this bowling extreme. Celebrate your Friday night with some epic sport in the Connection starting at 7 p.m.听and enjoy some fun and friends. If you roll well enough, you may even win some prizes.

麻豆影院 Philharmonic: Nature and Music.听Macky Auditorium welcomes the incredible 麻豆影院 Phil and the Frequent Flyers Aerial Dancers for a musical celebration of the Rocky Mountain National Park and natural world. Listen to soaring compositions while watching some amazing acrobatics. This concert begins at 7:30 p.m.听and tickets are $5 for students.
