Hello friends and scholars! There is a huge assortment of events happening on campus this week, and I encourage you to get out and about and experience as much as possible in this beautiful weather. I am Sarah Ellsworth: IPHY major, 麻豆影院 native, and event connoisseur, writing to you from the comfort of beautiful CU 麻豆影院 on all of your weekly opportunities for community involvement, educational whatnot and supreme fun. Tuesday, March 7

Activate.听The Center for Student Involvement invites you to Activate: a Student Involvement and Activism Conference听at 5 p.m. in the UMC Aspen Rooms. Dinner will be provided at this free event for you and your fellow community members, who will be discussing service, engagement听and activism together with a keynote speaker. Be sure to be there to voice your opinions and consider those of others.

Around the World Culture Night.听Be sure to catch the South Asian Student Association鈥檚 Around the World Culture Night听from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Center for Community. There will be free food, art听and dance for all with a valid Buff OneCard so come and celebrate South Asian culture and sample some good food!

Statistical Short Courses: Intro to R.听Join the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis for a free course听in Muenzinger E131 from 5 to 7 p.m. The LISA offers free courses every Tuesday evening for anyone interested in statistical analysis, and this Tuesday kicks it off with Intro to R, basic instruction in one of the most popular and widely used stats analysis softwares available.

Premiere of Seed: The Untold Story.听Come to the on-campus premiere of Seed, a new documentary about the legacy of the seed and its journey through the food industry throughout history. If you are passionate about food justice, environmentalism, the economy of the food industry, or just enjoy eating, then this film is for you. It will be shown in Hale 270 at 6 p.m. for free and or course food will be provided.听

Branch Out: Cyanotype photography class.听The Dennis Small Cultural Center hosts another Branch Out in UMC 204听from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. This week you will be working on your cyanotype photography skills to up your photo-taking game. Bring a camera and don鈥檛 miss out on this free workshop!

CMCI spring career fair.听With the difficulty of finding a job out of college these days, attending a career fair may be to your advantage to help you make connections and pursue your opportunities early. The College of Media, Communications, and Information is hosting their annual Spring Career Fair in the UMC from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.听and the list of attending companies is long. Bring some resumes, dress classy听and practice your best qualities.

Art and Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon.听Join together with your fellow feminists for a day of Wiki-editing as it relates to women in the arts. Whether you have experience with Wikipedia editing or not, you鈥檙e all welcome to attend and contribute to society鈥檚 knowledge about feminism. Bring a laptop if you have one and come to the CU Art Museum between 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Low Hanging Fruit and听Sweeney.听Catch these two incredibly talented local musical groups for a night of original rap and hip-hop tonight in Club 156 from 8 to 11 p.m. Check out the sounds of Low Hanging Fruit and Sweeney on the site and don鈥檛 miss this incredible concert. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Friday, March 10

Frozen Dead Guy Days.听Frozen Dead Guy Days are Nederland, Colorado鈥檚 favorite annual tradition. People celebrate their favorite tuft shed cryo-Grandpa with a polar plunge, costumes, coffin races听and lots of food. The festivities start at 4 p.m.听and continue through 9 p.m. on Sunday so make the drive up 麻豆影院 Canyon to join in the fun.

Ramen at the Flatirons Food Film Festival.听The annual Flatirons Food Film Festival peaks with the annual screening of Tampopo, a movie that celebrates one thing: ramen. You will be able to sample some ramen from local chefs before the film begins in Muenzinger Auditorium at 2 p.m. and then enjoy this classic favorite of foodies everywhere. Tickets are $9 for students.
