Map of alternate routes at Baseline

Traffic impacts related to the city of Â鶹ӰԺ's Baseline Road underpass construction project along the south edge of Main Campus are set to increase beginning the week of Feb. 27. The red line on the map illustrates a pedestrian detour along the south side of Baseline. Cyclists will be detoured to the multi-use path on the north side of Baseline. Motorists, meanwhile, will see daytime lane closures in effect between Broadway and 27th Way.

CU Â鶹ӰԺ students, employees and visitors who travel along Baseline Road should be aware the third phase of the city’s underpass construction is set to begin the week of Feb. 27, bringing increased traffic impacts with it.

Over the next two months, the new underpass being built beneath Baseline at the south end of Main Campus will be connected to the existing sidewalks, multi-use path, on-street bicycle lanes and an improved transit stop on the south side of Baseline.

This work and associated detours are expected to cause greater impacts along the Baseline corridor between Broadway and 27th Way than have been experienced to this point. City of Â鶹ӰԺ officials are encouraging the use of alternate routes.

Daytime vehicle lane closures (8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) are anticipated for much of the rest of the project, which is slated for total completion in mid-June. Lane closures will not, however, be in effect on graduation day in May.

The multi-use path along the south side of Baseline will be closed, with a pedestrian detour routed through the Basemar Shopping Center and along the east side of Broadway. Cyclists, meanwhile, will be detoured to the multi-use path on the north side of Baseline.

Those traveling through the area can check the Ìýand the for updates and the latest construction impacts. Questions about the project can also be directed to Melanie Sloan in the city of Â鶹ӰԺ’s transportation division at 303-441-4934 or sloanm@bouldercolorado.gov.
