In January, more than 40 new employees came together to explore ethics and compliance at CU 麻豆影院 as part听of the CU Discover Series. The comprehensive, year-long onboarding program sponsored by the Department of Human Resources gives employees at CU 麻豆影院 in their first 12 to 18 months of employment the opportunity to learn more about campus values, mission, operations and initiatives.听

Registration is now听open for the February and March CU Discover sessions. New employees are invited to bring a brown-bag听lunch and join subject matter experts.听


"Higher Education: A Different Animal"

When: Friday, Feb. 17, noon to 12:45 p.m.

What makes higher education different from other types of organizations and industries? What are the different employee cultures听in an institution of higher education, and what do they value? How are decisions made in higher ed? What do we mean by shared governance? Why does it take so long to get things done?

These and many other questions about working in an institution of higher education will be answered in the February CU Discover lunch and learn program. Bring your lunch and join your fellow new employees to learn the answers to these questions from Merna Jacobsen, the assistant vice chancellor, deputy chief HR officer and director of organizational and employee development at CU 麻豆影院.

At the end of the session, participants will understand:

  • How higher education differs from other types of organizations,
  • The different employee cultures within higher education and
  • How decision-making, governance听and processes work in higher education.

Financial wellness for employees is one of the hottest topics in employee benefits right now. Come learn about the wellness resources that are available to CU 麻豆影院 employees right now! The session will cover information regarding one-on-one financial advisor sessions, web resources that speak to real-life needs听and how to bring a financial education workshop to your department. Employees in both PERA and TIAA will benefit from this information.听

At the end of the session, participants will understand:

  • How to take full advantage of financial wellness resources,
  • How to get a free lunch and a financial education workshop and
  • Where to look for all the perks related to wellbeing at CU.
