Life in Russia under Putin: Sarah Wilson Sokhey has studied economic and social reform in Russia and the post-communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe for more than a decade. She is affiliated with the Higher School of Economics in Moscow and is a member of PONARS Eurasia, a network of over 100 academics specializing in Russia and Eurasia.听Her research focuses on social policy, including pension reform, health care policies and state-sponsored higher education. Russian foreign relations:听John O鈥橪oughlin鈥檚 research on Russia has centered on Russia鈥檚 geopolitics and foreign policy toward听Ukraine, internal conflicts within Russia (especially the North Caucasus),听the creation and survival of Russian-supported separatist regions in the former Soviet Union and the conflict in Ukraine. A professor of distinction in geography and a faculty associate in the Institute of Behavioral Science, he has conducted field work throughout the former Soviet Union for 25 years.
