Hello people! I hope you all enjoy your Thanksgiving break鈥攜ou鈥檝e earned it!听It鈥檚 a lovely week to wind down and check the last things off your to-do list. I am Sarah Ellsworth: IPHY major, 麻豆影院 native, and event connoisseur, writing to you from the comfort of beautiful CU 麻豆影院 on all of your weekly opportunities for community involvement, educational whatnot and supreme fun. Rethinking Refugees: Cooperative Humanitarianism.听Join Kelly Bendelow, associate field officer at the UN鈥檚 Commissioner for Refugees, to discuss the continuing refugee crisis of Syria and refugees everywhere, an issue at the top of the nation鈥檚 mind. This event will take place in the Dennis Small Cultural Center (UMC 204) from 5 to 6:30 p.m., so if you have something to say or just want to keep your ears open and learn more about this hot topic, then come on by.

Small Culture, Small Community: Survival in the Global Economy.听Join professors from the Political Science, Linguistics, and Speech Language and Hearing Sciences departments for a panel discussion of the effects of globalization on the little guys: small communities and groups of individuals. Examples from around the world will support the facts, and this discussion is free and open to all. It begins at 6:30 p.m. in Hellems 199.

International Education Week.听Today through Friday runs this celebration of education, discussion听and experience on the global scale. There will be a variety of events all week, including lectures, discussion, trivia听and International Coffee Hour. You can also compete in an international photo contest and win some sweet prizes. All events are free and open to everyone and a complete schedule can be found on the website.

8-Ball Billiards Tournament.听Grab your friends and roll on down to the Connection听around 6 p.m. to sign up for this sporting tourney. There is a $5 entry fee but there are prizes to be won if you can show your chops. Bring your game and kick some butt!

BLOrk: Electronic Music Ensemble.听How can something called Songs of Space听not be awesome? Fiske鈥檚 Dome and Liquid Sky presentation welcomes electronic music group BLOrk for a musical and visual collab, which will also incorporate deep space sounds recorded by NASA and cosmic imagery. The show runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fiske and is free to all.

Symphony Orchestra.听If like me you are a classical music aficionado and enjoy being impressed, then be sure to catch a symphony orchestra performance featuring Rossini and Elgar compositions in Macky Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. This concert is free and everyone is invited, so come and relax for a few hours and enjoy some beautiful tunes.

Pearl Street Music Festival.听听All around 麻豆影院 and Pearl Street from today through Saturday, local bands like Yonder Mountain String Band take the stage to jam out some awesome music for you to get down to. Tickets are cheap and these shows are held in some pretty cool places. Check out the website for a full schedule and make sure to catch some rocking music this week.

Yoga for Every Student.听Free yoga is a benefit of student life that I suspect many of us will miss after graduating, so take advantage of another opportunity to yoga this afternoon at 12:30 p.m. in Kittredge N100.You can bring your own mat or borrow one there, and remember to dress comfortably and bring your relaxing vibes. All levels welcome.

CU Buffs v Washington State Football.听Congrats to the Buffs for their crushing win over Arizona this past weekend. Let鈥檚 keep it up this week when Washington State comes to our own Folsom Field for one of the last home games of the year. Get your tickets now if you haven鈥檛 yet, because the CU football team is good this year and you won鈥檛 want to miss it!

Switch on the Holidays.听Swing by the 麻豆影院 County Courthouse听to get into the holiday spirit with a countdown to the lighting of the courthouse facade and Pearl Street Mall with twinkling and festive lights.听The merriment starts at 5 p.m. and runs through 7 p.m., so if you love the holiday feeling, then join 麻豆影院 in kicking off the season!
