Award-winning actress, writer and stand-up comedian Maysoon Zayid will speak at CU 麻豆影院 on听Tuesday, Nov.听1, at 7 p.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. The event, hosted听by听the Cultural Events Board, is free and open to the public.
Zayid is the co-founder/co-executive producer of the New York Arab American Comedy Festival, and has appeared on Comedy Central, CNN, PBS, HBO, ABC, BBC听and MTV. She听has performed stand-up comedy in top New York clubs and toured in the US and abroad, such as Palestine and Jordan, and听was a 2013 honoree of the United Cerebral Palsy of NYC鈥檚 鈥淲oman Who Care鈥 Awards, and currently sits on its planning committee. She听will speak about her experiences as a Palestinian Muslim-American with cerebral palsy, and how these multiple identities have shaped her life.
