It isn鈥檛 unusual for some first-year students to struggle academically while getting used 听to university life.
That鈥檚 where CU 麻豆影院鈥檚 Academic Success and Achievement Program (ASAP) comes in. ASAP is an amazing and free on-campus tutoring program offered to any student living on campus.
What sets ASAP apart from other tutoring options is its convenience. Located inside Kitt Central room N221, ASAP provides tutors who can offer help in just about every class subject. To become a tutor, applicants go through an in-depth process to pinpoint their subject area strengths and are trained thoroughly to become experts in these subjects. This helps the program coordinators ensure that each student is placed in a tutoring group with the peer tutor most capable of helping that student succeed.
Two tutoring formats are available:
Small study groups meet for two hours a week while an expert peer tutor helps them set goals for their classes, stay on track听and better understand class. These groups provide students with connections to other students in class, as well, multiplying their resources.
Walk-in tutoring is available Monday-Thursday for a variety of classes. Created for students who just need a few questions answered or for those waiting to be assigned to a small group, walk-in tutoring provides a noncommittal space for students to get in and get out with answers to their questions. Walk-in help听is available for听these majors and courses:
- molecular, cellular, and developmental biology
- integrative physiology
- economics
- psychology
- environmental ecology and biology
- Calculus I and II
- Physics I and II
