Nutrition Forum: Plant Powered!ÌýIf you’ve ever considered being vegetarian, or just eating less meat, then come by the C4C Dining Center Treehouse Room from 5:30 to 6:30Ìýp.m. for some tips on cooking and eating more plants and a discussion of the benefits. Registered Dietician Allison Smith and Chef Carl Solomon will be your instructors for the evening, and will even provide you with some delicious plant-based dishes to snack on.

Live Free Weekend.ÌýThis weekend is CU Â鶹ӰԺ’s annual Live Free Weekend, where you are challenged to embrace sobriety all weekend. It all gets started this afternoon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UMC Fountain, where you will receive a free lunch if you commit to a substance free weekend. There will be lots of free and fun events all weekend for you all, including sports classes at the Rec and movies. Take the challenge and rise above!

44 Plays for 44 Presidents.ÌýIf you love American history, then be sure you get tickets ($20) for the Neo-Fututists’ drama which dedicates 2 minutes to each of the 44 American Presidents. Explore the long ago past with Washington, then move through time until Obama and the present time in which we all play a part. This play runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m.Ìýin the University Theater.
NASA's Mission to Europa lecture: "Exploring a Potentially Habitable World."ÌýIf you love the idea of space exploration (which you should because it’s awesome), then come by Benson Earth Sciences room 180Ìýfrom 5 to 6 p.m. for a distinguished lecture byÌýRobert Pappalardo, a project scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, in which the NASA mission to explore Jupiter’s moon Europa will be discussed in detail. We are alive at a very exciting time in the course of space exploration, where our knowledge and technology allow us to learn more and more about the universe we inhabit, so don’t miss this great event!
Pedal-powered movie.ÌýLooking for something fun and social to do on your Friday night? Pedal down to the Folsom Bike Station to catch the sustainably pedal-powered movie, Old School, starring Will Ferrell and Luke Wilson, which starts at dusk. The movie will runÌýsolelyÌýon the mechanical power generated by stationary bicycling, which is totallyÌýenvironmentallyÌýfriendly. There will be a party beforehand, featuring free food!
Jaipur Literature Festival.ÌýRunning from today through Sunday, the Jaipur Literature Festival is one of the world’s biggest and most celebrated literature extravaganzas. You can attend a plethora of events, featuring speakers, artists, writersÌýand musicians in every genre and medium of literature. Â鶹ӰԺÌý100 sessions will take place at aÌývariety of locations, including the CU Â鶹ӰԺ campus, so be sure to take part in this grand tradition!

Free yoga for mental health.ÌýSo much ofÌýmental health is intertwined with the physical wellness of you bodies, so if you’re feeling stressed this semester, don’t overlook yoga as an option for relieving some of that physically. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., the Mind Body Studio at the Rec Center, you can drop in on a free yoga lesson- no need to register in advance!
