CU 麻豆影院's will host a panel discussion on "Affirmative Action and Higher Education" on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 7 to 9 p.m. in Eaton Humanities room 150. The discussion is free and open to the public.

For decades, college campuses have been under scrutiny for the way in which race and various other factors play a role in admissions and hiring decisions. With the latest decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, such practices seem likely to continue for the foreseeable future.

As part of the Western Civ Dialogue Series, leading philosophers, who have written on this subject and who represent a broad range of perspectives, will discuss the role that affirmative action should play within colleges and universities.
