10 things to do this week

It鈥檚 the moment of truth Buffaloes. Finals week has arrived again, so it鈥檚 time to hit the books. If you find yourself with a free moment, however, then check out this week鈥檚 events to unwind and reenergize. I am Sarah Ellsworth: IPHY major, 麻豆影院 native, and event connoisseur, writing to you from the comfort of beautiful CU-麻豆影院 on all of your weekly opportunities for community involvement, educational whatnot and supreme fun. ATLAS Expo.听Come and check out the culmination of the incredible creativity and technological genius that comes out of the ATLAS program from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the ATLAS building. The people there have done some truly magical things, and they are on display for your perusal, so don鈥檛 miss out. The expo is free and open to everyone. .

The history and evolution of Old North 麻豆影院.听If you love the town we live in, then get to know some of its history with a free lecture from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Museum of 麻豆影院 (2205 Broadway). North 麻豆影院, not especially frequented by CU students but one of my favorite parts of this town, has a rich history and an interesting back story. There is a lot to be discovered. .

Grad Bash.听Are you graduating this semester? If so, then don鈥檛 miss The Herd鈥檚 Grad Bash to celebrate your wonderful achievement with your fellow CU graduates-to-be. There will be free food and drinks (bring your ID) at the Koenig Alumni Center backyard from 4 to 8 p.m., and cords, gifts and information about post-grad life will be available. Be sure to register online. .

Advance screening: 笔辞辫蝉迟补谤.听What better to do with a Thursday night before finals week than relax and watch a free movie? If you love Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live, then check out his new movie (before it hits theaters), Popstar, in Chem 140 at 8 p.m.. Admission and popcorn are free to students with a valid Buff OneCard. Pick up tickets in UMC 401. .

Women鈥檚 Resource Center open house.听Join the WRC between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on the UMC South Terrace for an afternoon of free food and fun recess-themed games, including board games, hopscotch and coloring, which will please the child within. Everyone is welcome so bring some friends and hang out and learn about the Women鈥檚 Resource Center. .

Day Without Hate.听Come and celebrate tolerance and kindness and love in the Glenn Miller Ballroom at 5 this evening in honor of Day Without Hate. There will be a guest speaker, food, and t-shirts, all free if you come wearing white and leaving all prejudices behind you. .

Finish strong! Finals prep workshop.听College Learning Strategies presents you with an awesome workshop to help you get ready and set for all of your finals, with tips on study and test-taking skills, and time management. If you鈥檝e been struggling in your classes, then this could be exactly what you need to finish the semester with a success story. The workshop will be held in Flemming 241 from noon to 12:50 p.m. and is free and open to everyone. .

Yoga for every student.听De-stress with one of the most soothing and revitalizing forms of exercise from 3 to 4 p.m. in Flemming 244. This free yoga class will be offered to yogis of all levels and will help you slow down and breathe deeply and think clearly. Wear comfortable, moveable clothes and bring your own mat if you have one, otherwise one will be provided to you. .

Buff Pool opening.听Get your swimsuit and sunscreen on because the Buff Pool at the Rec Center is finally open! It鈥檚 getting to be that bask-in-the-sun time of year again, so get started on your pool time early this season, especially since the pool is free to Buffs. .

Monday, May 2

Late Night Breakfast.听As we kick off finals week, it can be difficult to keep up with your normal healthy routine. Alas, we must all eat to feed our brains, so if your studying is keeping you up late, then swing by the Alfred Packer Grill in the UMC between 8 and 11 p.m. for a free breakfast and free fun activities to distress and refuel, provided by the Center for Student Involvement. .
