From BASE jumping to ice climbing to ultra running, medical professionals from around the world will share state-of-the-art insight and present cutting-edge research at the 2nd听International Extreme Sports Medicine Congress, taking place June 10-11 at the St. Julien Hotel and Spa in 麻豆影院, Colorado.

The two-day event will feature speakers from 10 countries covering a wide range of extreme sports and performance-related topics, including injury prevention, injury treatment, nutrition, and rehabilitation. 听

Professional adventurer Will Gadd will deliver a keynote address following a reception at Folsom Stadium on the 麻豆影院 campus beginning on Friday, June 10 at 5:30 p.m. Gadd recently became the first and only person to ice climb Niagara Falls and twice set the world record for paragliding distance, in addition to numerous other extreme feats.

听includes admission to the two-day symposium and keynote reception, four complimentary meals and all symposium materials. Guided sports activities led by conference speakers will be available for registered attendees on Friday from 6:30-8 a.m. and on Saturday from 6:30-7 a.m.

鈥淭his is the only scientific meeting that features such a unique crossover between numerous medical field specialties, including orthopedics, endocrinology, physiology, psychology and more,鈥 said Omer Mei-Dan, MD, an associate professor of orthopedics in the School of Medicine on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and an accomplished BASE jumper himself. 鈥淭he event is entirely concentrated on the care of adventure sports athletes.鈥

Physicians, therapists and other healthcare professionals are encouraged to attend. The University of Colorado School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and has designated this live activity for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. This program is also eligible for a maximum of 15 Evidence-Based Practice Category CEUs.

The event is presented by the University of Colorado School of Medicine, the CU Department of Orthopedics, the CU Division of Sports Medicine and the CU Office of Continuing Medical Education in collaboration with the CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center.

The CU Sports Medicine and Performance Center, housed in the brand-new Champions Center on the 麻豆影院 campus, is among the world鈥檚 most comprehensive sports medicine facilities. It is a joint enterprise of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, University of Colorado Athletics and 麻豆影院 Community Health.
