10 things to do this week

Suit up etiquette dinner.听Proper dining etiquette can go a very long way in making a good impression, whether at a dinner party with friends or at a professional, networking or work event. Join The Herd and etiquette expert Marie Hornback for a four-course meal from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Koenig Alumni Center to learn all the ins and outs and what have you鈥檚 of civilized meal etiquette protocol. 9-Ball billiards tournament.听It鈥檚 time to drop your billiards skills and assert your dominance at 7 p.m. at The Connection with a 9-Ball tournament where there are prizes to be won. Sign up at 6 p.m. at The Connection front desk on the first floor of the UMC. There鈥檚 a $5 entry fee for competitors and BCA rules apply. .

尝耻惫笔颈濒补迟别蝉.听Perhaps one of the most underrated forms of exercise is pilates, but I鈥檓 here to tell you, it鈥檚 a ton of fun and a butt-kicking workout. Get your fill today at Wonder Press (946 Pearl) at 6:30 pm for $15, which includes a fresh juice. This class is for moderate-advanced pilate-ers and all those macho guys reading this thinking 鈥淧ilates? (snort). I could do that easy.鈥 Well, bring a mat! .

Roots of a Rebellion with The Jive Tribe.听Join the ever-funky rock-reggae-dub-soul music group Roots of a Rebellion for some jamming with guest act The Jive tribe at 7:30 p.m. in Club 156 (UMC). ROAR has opened for some of your favorites, including the Wailers, Slightly Stoopid and Trombone Shorty, and has come to CU to spread the vibes. Tickets are $10. .

Bike maintenance clinic.听If you鈥檝e ever thought that paying for a bicycle tune-up was too expensive, then come learn how to do it yourself courtesy of the CU Bike Station. In this 5 to 7:30 p.m. clinic, you will learn to fix, inspect and lube your bike at the Folsom Bike Station and then get some hands-on experience. Bring a bike and register for this free clinic on the website before you go. .

Pablo Zieglar and Lara St. John.听Come to Macky at 7:30 p.m. to catch extraordinary pianist Pablo Ziegler and violinist Lara St. John perform Astor Piazzolla鈥檚 tangos, new and improved. These brilliant musicians have been hailed by the Chicago Tribune and have performed these tangos in Central Park, so you won鈥檛 want to miss out on this concert. Tickets start at $15. .

Saturday, April 16

Colorado Music Hall of Fame induction concert.听Come honor legendary musicians, including Glenn Miller, Paul Whiteman, Max Morath, Billy Murray and Elizabeth Spencer with some crazy good music performances at 7 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom (where else?). The Colorado Music Hall of Fame is inducting these greats and inviting you to come listen to some spectacular jazz, ragtime and big band music. .

Tour of Africa. Join CU-麻豆影院's听African Students' Association for the free annual Tour of Africa from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. in the Rec Center lower gym. The free event includes Henna (temporary tattoos), authentic catered food, artwork and an all Africa fashion show. .

Holi at CU.听Grab your friends and get yourselves to 3901 Pinon Dr. (not far from Will Vill) for this year鈥檚 Indian Holi Festival at CU in which you can shower each other in brightly colored powders, eat some awesome Indian Food and dance around to Indian music. The event if free with a Buff OneCard but you must get a ticket online to attend and space is limited! .

Spring Swing.听If you are like me and love big band jazz, then don鈥檛 forget to attend CU鈥檚 Spring Swing, where renditions of many of the greats, including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller will be performed with lots of鈥攜ou guessed it鈥攕oul courtesy of the CU Jazz Ensemble. The event takes place in Macky at 2 p.m. and tickets start at $5. .
