A short Q & A about the center and what it does on campus

Who is welcome at the WRC?

People of all genders are welcome at the Women's Resource Center. We are a student fee funded cost center so most of our programs and services are directed toward students, but staff, and faculty are also welcome to attend our events or consult with WRC staff.

What does the WRC do?

The WRC is a multi-faceted organization. Many people know us through our educational or signature programs, such as "Sugar Free Feminism," "For The Health of It" or "Women Who Make a Difference," but we also have two peer groups - Kitchen Table and Queer Women in Community. We also provide free pregnancy tests and condoms, are a source for resources and referrals to campus and community organizations and offer consultation and advocacy to members of the campus community.

What can I do at the Center?

In addition to our educational programs, the center has an amazing space for students to gather and build community and study, and we have a small computer lab, including free printing. The center is also a great place to learn more about social justice and gender equity, either in a program, in a conversation or by using our resource library.

How can I get involved?

Students who want to get more involved than participating in a program or using the space can apply to be a WRC volunteer. Applications are accepted early in the fall semester.听听We also have 10 student staff positions that we seek to fill on an as needed basis. Volunteers and student staff are integral part of our programs, services, marketing and outreach.

All members of the community can connect with us on social media - Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn - to learn more about current topics in gender equity, network with other supporters of the WRC and learn about internships and job opportunities related to social justice and gender.

Why do we need a resource center?

To promote gender equity and social justice and to provide support to students and the CU community. The WRC is a safe space for students wanting to build community or enhance their sense of belonging, those experiencing difficulties and needing someone to talk to informally, or seeking referrals to other resources on campus -- all of which our staff and volunteers are happy to provide.
