Four faculty members from the 麻豆影院 have been named fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The honor recognizes their scientifically or socially distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications.
This year, 401 members of AAAS were named fellows. The four CU-麻豆影院 fellows, all faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences, are David Jonas, professor of chemistry and biochemistry; Lise Menn, professor emerita of linguistics; Jim White, professor of geological sciences and director of the Institute for Arctic and Alpine Research; and Mark Winey, professor and chair of molecular, cellular and developmental biology.

The new fellows, who join more than 20 previous CU-麻豆影院 faculty AAAS fellows, will be presented their awards on Feb. 14 at the 2015 AAAS Annual Meeting in San Jose, California.
AAAS, which was founded in 1848, is the world鈥檚 largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal Science.
