Emilee Butts, a CU-麻豆影院 senior majoring in psychology and Spanish, has had an interest in philanthropy dating back to high school.

This fall, in addition to serving as director of philanthropy and service for the , she is chairing the annual Buffthon, a 12-hour dance marathon that benefits Children's Miracle Network and Children's Hospital Colorado.

"I just have a heart for service, and the opportunity to chair this event has been great," Butts said.

The dance marathon, which is put on by a committee of CU-麻豆影院 students, will be held on Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.听

"Students from across campus are invited to take part in the event and fundraising, either as a team or as individuals," Butts said.

The event includes student performances, a photo booth and of course a lot of music and dancing, according to Butts. While the event is fun, it also can be a challenge.

"The theme of the event is really to go the extra mile, to push yourself, to help these Colorado kids," Butts said.
