The University of Colorado club soccer (men's and women's), women's volleyball, and men's and women's cycling all competed over the weekend, with great results.

Women's Club Soccer
The hosted the 13th annual 鈥淯niversity of Colorado Women鈥檚 Club Soccer Invitational鈥 Sept. 26 - 28. Held on the athletic turf fields, the Buffs hosted nine universities highlighted by rivals Arizona and Colorado State University. Through pool play, CU Gold dominated the competition beating Kansas State 6-0 and Wyoming 7-1. In the quarterfinal round CU faced Northern Colorado, winning by a five goal margin and advancing to the semifinals where Colorado School of Mines was waiting. Beating Mines 6-2, the finals were set between two very familiar opponents: CU against CSU. By far the closest and hardest fought game of the weekend, the Buffaloes emerged champions with a final score of 2-1.听
Women鈥檚 Club Volleyball听
The was in action for the Rocky Mountain Conference tournament Sept. 26 -28. There were 12 total teams present split between A and B divisions. The CU Black鈥攐ne of the two CU teams鈥攚on all of its matches, only dropping one game in the finals. CU cruised through Colorado School of Mines, University of Denver, and University of Wyoming during pool play. In the semi-finals, CU had to face Wyoming once again, beating them 25-20. This would put CU up against CSU in the finals. With wins in the first and third game, CU won the tournament.听
Men鈥檚 Club Soccer
The traveled to Durango to battle Mesa State University and Fort Lewis University for an early season match-up on Sept. 27. Battling the elements, CU only managed to play one of the two scheduled games -- against Mesa State. CU gave up an early penalty goal, and entered half time down 1-0. The second half told a different tale, as CU battled back to win the game 3-1. CU travels to Fort Collins on Saturday, Oct. 4, to face in-state rival CSU at 8 p.m., and then will face the University of Denver in 麻豆影院 at noon on Oct. 5.
The men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 club cycling team headed to Indianapolis for the 2014 national championships on Thursday, Sept. 25. Colorado athlete Nicolle Bruderer took bronze in the 3 km pursuit, and gold in the scratch race. On the men鈥檚 side, Charles 鈥淢ac鈥 Cassin took bronze in the scratch race, silver as part of the Team Pursuit, and gold for his efforts in the 4 km pursuit. Looking forward to the mountain bike national championships on Oct.听24 - 26, Coach Jeff Winkler added that he is excited for what is to come since CU is doing well during regular season competitions against perennial powerhouse Fort Lewis. CU will be in Angel Fire, NM, this upcoming weekend for their next competition and look to improve their standings as they sit second in the conference currently, behind Fort Lewis.听
The CU-麻豆影院听听includes 31 club sports. The program averages two to three national championships per year and has won more than 60 in the past 20 years. In 2014, club teams netted five national championships.
