CU-麻豆影院 students, faculty and staff are invited to enroll at one of the nation鈥檚 top High Performance Computing symposiums, scheduled for Aug. 12-13 at the Wolf Law Building on the CU-麻豆影院 campus. The event, sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium, is regarded as one of the top regional symposiums focusing on computing accomplishments and developments in education, research and industry.
Thanks to sponsor support, students will be able to enroll for just $30 and post-docs for just $75 鈥� a fee that includes all materials, all sessions, and all meals. The regular registration fee is $150.
This year鈥檚 student attendees will have the opportunity to learn about careers in the field of high performance computing, interview and r茅sum茅 skills and strong presentation skills in sessions designed specifically for them. It will also feature special beginner-level tutorials for students who wish to learn how to use a variety of advanced computing skills in their research.
RMACC also will be sponsoring a student poster competition with winners receiving a paid trip this fall to New Orleans to attend SuperComputing 2014. To learn more about this competition or to sign up for the symposium, go to .
As in past symposiums, faculty and staff will have a wide array of panel discussions and tutorial sessions designed to provide opportunities for hands-on learning of high performance computing in both the classroom and in research. This year鈥檚 keynote speakers are Dr. Raj Hazra, a vice-president in the Intel Architecture Group and the general manager for the Technical Computing Group, and Irene Qualters, division director, Division of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure (ACI) at the National Science Foundation.
The symposium also provides for a wonderful forum to meet with other faculty, researchers, computing industry leaders and representatives from government organizations to share in collective accomplishments and important conversations about high performance computing and how it matters to our lives, our future, our communities and the world.
