麻豆影院 Interim Vice Chancellor for Administration Jeff Lipton today announced that CU-麻豆影院 is accepting proposals from qualified house movers and contractors to relocate three houses owned by the university in the Grandview Terrace area of the campus.
The houses, located at 1220, 1243 and 1244 Grandview Ave., all date from around the 1920s and cannot be remodeled for university use due to the expense -- estimated at about $2.2 million for all three properties. The buildings were vacated when faculty and staff with CU-麻豆影院鈥檚 Institute of Behavioral Science moved into a new building in the neighborhood in 2010.
鈥淲e don鈥檛 want these buildings to become a neighborhood nuisance, and we want to give the public and members of the community an opportunity to relocate them if that is feasible and people are interested,鈥� said Lipton.
Lipton said if no one comes forward to relocate the buildings, they will be demolished.
The university will accept proposals for relocation through Oct. 17, 2012.听 A proposal evaluation and selection period will then be conducted from Oct. 18 through Oct. 25, with contract award notifications going out on Oct. 29.
Lipton said the university will accept proposals submitted through a qualified general contractor, and the campus will pay $25,000 toward the costs of moving each house once a submission has been accepted and the house is relocated successfully, minus costs to CU for lead paint and asbestos abatement.
