麻豆影院 Provost Russell Moore today announced that Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Julie Wong has accepted the post of regional associate vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. She will leave CU-麻豆影院 July 1 and Deb Coffin, associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students, will serve as interim vice chancellor for student affairs.

"I want to congratulate Julie on her appointment and wish her all the best," said Moore. "She has served CU-麻豆影院 with warmth and enthusiasm, and she will be a great addition to the USF St. Petersburg community."

At USFSP, Wong will serve as chief student affairs officer, overseeing housing and residence life, student conduct, student involvement, enrollment and marketing and eight other major departments and programs. She will take a special interest in further developing USFSP's programs in civic engagement and in bringing on line USFSP's new student center, opening in fall 2012.

The USFSP campus enrolls more than 6,000 students and is part of the University of South Florida System, which has an enrollment of more than 40,000 students.

"It has been a privilege to serve at CU-麻豆影院 and I will greatly miss the students, parents, alumni and my many CU colleagues," said Wong. "This new opportunity offers me the chance to lead a student affairs division in a growing urban university setting, which has been a special ambition of mine."

Wong has served as vice chancellor for student affairs since July 2008. The post oversees more than two dozen departments and offices centered on improving student life, including the CU Alumni Association, the Office of Student Conduct, Counseling and Psychological Services, Wardenburg Health Center, the CU Recreation Center, the University Memorial Center, the Office of Parent Relations and numerous others. The division maintains a $136 million operating budget.

Moore also lauded the appointment of Coffin, who currently serves as associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students, as Wong's interim replacement.

"Deb Coffin will be stepping in to provide CU-麻豆影院 with experienced interim leadership of our student affairs division," Moore said. "Deb is a popular and seasoned leader who knows the student landscape at CU-麻豆影院 better than anyone. We are fortunate to have her in this key role."

Coffin has been at CU-麻豆影院 since 2001 and has served as associate vice chancellor and dean of students since being appointed to the post in an interim capacity in July 2008. Prior to that she served as assistant vice chancellor for student affairs, supervising the departments of Housing and Dining, Residence Life, Greek Life, and the Alcohol and Other Drugs Program.

Coffin has worked in higher education for more than 26 years in appointments at CU-麻豆影院, the University of Wyoming and the University of Northern Colorado.
