The University of Colorado at 麻豆影院's Wardenburg Health Center is kicking off a series of seasonal flu vaccine clinics beginning in October, designated both for high-risk and non-high-risk students.
For students in high-risk categories only, Wardenburg Health Center will offer seasonal flu vaccinations on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and Thursday, Oct. 15, from noon to 4 p.m. in the west solarium of Wardenburg Health Center. These clinics will operate on a walk-in basis and no appointment is necessary. Students in high-risk categories include those who are pregnant, have asthma, diabetes, compromised immune systems or other underlying health conditions.
For all students, including those who are not in high-risk categories, the next seasonal flu vaccinations will be offered on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at the CU Book Store in the University Memorial Center. These clinics will operate on a walk-in basis and no appointment is necessary.
The seasonal flu shot costs $20 and is fully covered by the Student Gold Health Insurance Plan. Those without coverage may pay for the seasonal flu shot with cash or check only.
Due to the limited supply of the seasonal flu vaccine, Wardenburg Health Center is offering the vaccine clinics only to students at this time. Medical officials are reminding all campus community members that the seasonal flu vaccine is already available at many pharmacies, grocery stores and doctors' offices, and may be covered by personal insurance. Individuals, especially those in high-risk categories, are encouraged to get the seasonal flu shot early.
Wardenburg Health Center will offer the H1N1 vaccine for free when it becomes available. The center will prioritize vaccinations based on medical guidelines set by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
