The University of Colorado will play West Virginia University in a nationally televised football game on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Folsom Field, and CU officials strongly encourage faculty, staff, students and visitors to consider alternative transportation and parking on game day.
With thousands of additional people in 麻豆影院 and on campus for the game during a work and school day, traffic is expected to be especially heavy and parking will be extremely difficult. Walking, riding a bicycle or taking public transportation such as a bus to campus for classes and work on game day, and to the game, is strongly suggested.
CU-麻豆影院 main campus classes are scheduled to operate on a normal schedule on Sept. 18. However, individual faculty members are being given the option of not holding late-afternoon and evening classes. Faculty will work with students to make up any time or work missed due to a canceled class.
Campus departments also will maintain minimal staffing to conduct regular operations from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sept. 18 in an effort to decrease traffic congestion and create additional parking. Norlin Library will remain open, but will offer minimal services, while satellite libraries such as those in Duane Physics and Benson Earth Sciences will be closed.
Faculty, staff and students with EcoPasses can ride Regional Transportation District buses to campus for work and class at no cost.
Campus parking permit holders who drive to work or school on Sept. 18 will be directed to available lots. However, those who want to park off-campus can park in a temporary lot west of the Qwest building in the CU Research Park north of Colorado Avenue off Foothills Parkway.
For people traveling to 麻豆影院 for the football game at 6:30 p.m., RTD's BuffRide will be operating throughout the Denver metro area. Buses start departing about two hours and 30 minutes before kickoff from park-n-ride locations where passengers can park for free. RTD also will be operating additional buses for the J, Stampede and 209 routes, as well as from the U.S. 36 at Broomfield Park-N-Ride for the game.
For park-n-ride locations and fare information visit .
Campus-operated Buff buses also will be available to student riders.
Special valet bike parking and a bike storage facility will be available on Franklin Field for those who ride their bikes to the game.
Bus service to the stadium will be available from downtown 麻豆影院 via RTD's HOP and SKIP bus routes.
No game parking will be available for the general public on campus. For those who elect to drive to the game, campus and city officials are recommending an early arrival, as parking lots are expected to be full by 4:30 p.m.
Game parking will be available at the Twenty Ninth Street mall and in downtown parking garages. Riders can get on the SKIP route, which makes stops all along Broadway. After the game riders can board the SKIP at Broadway and 16th Street across from the University Memorial Center. People who park at the Twenty Ninth Street mall can ride the HOP, which stops at the north end of the mall.
Accessible parking for persons with disabilities will be available at the Euclid Avenue Autopark beginning at 2:30 p.m. Shuttles will be on hand to transport people between the parking structure, located east of the University Memorial Center, and the stadium before and after the game.
RV parking will be available at Folsom Street and Taft Avenue, or at the Millennium Harvest House. To make a reservation to park at the Millennium Harvest House call 303-443-3850.
