Four new Professors of Distinction named by the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 College of Arts and Sciences will discuss their research in public lectures on Monday, Dec. 3, on the CU-麻豆影院 campus.

The lectures will be in Wolf Law Building rooms 205 and 207 with two lectures beginning at 5:30 p.m. and two lectures starting at 6 p.m. in each of the rooms. A reception will follow in the Student Commons on the second floor.

The four professors are Russell Monson of ecology and evolutionary biology, Gerard Hauser of communication, Alice Healy of psychology and Charles Judd of psychology. The faculty members were named College Professors of Distinction by the College of Arts and Sciences in recognition of their exceptional service, teaching and research or creative work.

The lecture schedule is:

o Professor Monson, speaking on "Climate Change in the West and the Response of a Front Range Forest" at 5:30 p.m. in room 205.

o Professor Healy, speaking on "Training Optimization: Learning, Retention, and Transfer of Knowledge and Skills" at 5:30 p.m. in room 207.

o Professor Hauser, speaking on "Vernacular Rhetoric and Public Influence" at 6 p.m. in room 205.

o Professor Judd, speaking on "The Intrusiveness of Irrelevant Cues in Socially Significant Judgments" at 6 p.m. in room 207.
