More than 1,200 elementary school students from the 麻豆影院 area will participate in an annual festival at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 aimed at teaching them where drinking water comes from and how to protect and conserve the valuable natural resource.
The 15th annual "Operation: Water Festival" will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 16 at the University Memorial Center on the CU-麻豆影院 campus.
During the water education event, students will learn about the history, geography and science of water, explore the 麻豆影院 Creek watershed and its geology, and study diverse flora and fauna that rely on water for survival.
Most of the day's activities will unfold at the UMC and the Hellems Arts and Sciences Building. Festival sponsors include the Keep it Clean Partnership, the city of 麻豆影院, the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, the UMC, the CU-麻豆影院 community relations office, the federal Bureau of Reclamation and the 麻豆影院-based Wild Oats Markets Inc.
