The University of Colorado at 麻豆影院's women and gender studies program and the campus' Women's Resource Center will mark International Women's Day on Thursday, March 8, with an open house, rally and reception.

The Women's Resource Center will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in rooms 412 and 416 of the University Memorial Center, or UMC. Staff members will serve refreshments and hand out International Women's Day ribbons. The open house will feature an art display, and visitors will be able to create their own art.

From noon to 1 p.m., event organizers will stage a rally at the Dalton Trumbo Fountain Court outside the UMC. There will be an open microphone as well as speakers, including Veronica Garcia from the Colorado Anti-Violence Program, Tamika Payne from the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Caroline Denigan from CU-麻豆影院's women and gender studies program.

Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., event organizers will hold a reception at the Koenig Alumni Center to honor Colorado women who have made an outstanding contribution to the wellbeing of people worldwide.
