Housing Department officials at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 have made arrangements to continue staffing residence halls beyond their scheduled closing at 10 a.m. Friday through 12 noon on Sunday, Dec. 24, to allow students stranded by the blizzard to get flights or rides home.
An estimated 1,000 students have not been able to leave campus due to the cancellation of flights and the poor condition of highways throughout Colorado.听
Dining services will be available in Farrand and Darley halls only through tonight, so students will need to eat out on their own Friday through Sunday morning. However, most local restaurants near campus are open, said Housing Director Deb Coffin.听
Housing officials on Wednesday began assessing the number of students who had missed flights and would need accommodations. Students who need lodging were asked to contact their residence hall offices by Friday, Dec. 22, at 5 p.m.
On Thursday, all college and departmental graduation ceremonies were canceled, although final exams continued to be held. Students who were unable to travel to campus for exams were directed to make arrangements for makeup exams with their instructors.听
Commencement ceremonies have been rescheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. from the usual time of 9:30 a.m. to make it easier for students and family members to travel to and from campus.
