The University of Colorado at 麻豆影院 Police Department is investigating the theft of a computer server from the Engineering Center on the CU-麻豆影院 campus.
The theft occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 18, said CU Police Lt. John Kish. The server is an Aspen System Dual 2.66 GHz unit and is approximately three years old.
The server contains several years of research data that is extremely important to several graduate students who used the computer. According to electrical engineering Professor Kelvin Wagner, the data would not likely be useful to anyone else. CU authorities are working with Wagner to determine the precise nature of the total data lost.
CU-麻豆影院 and 麻豆影院 County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and filing of charges for those responsible. Additional reward monies also are being made available.
