Questions about which stars can be seen in June and why June 21 is the first day of summer will be answered in the season聮s final CU Wizard show, to be presented June 21 by astronomer Catharine Garmany at the University of Colorado at 麻豆影院.
The free public presentation of the popular science show geared to youngsters in grades 5 though 8 will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Fiske Planetarium. The planetarium is on Regent Drive near Kittredge Loop Drive.
Garmany, director of Fiske Planetarium and Sommers-Bausch Observatory, will enlist the aid of 聯Fritz,聰 the planetarium聮s star projector, in exploring the sky, phases of the moon and eclipses. She will take a short tour of the galaxy to see how new stars form, and perhaps catch the formation of a black hole.
CU Wizard shows patterned after the popular TV series are a 20-year tradition on the 麻豆影院 campus and one of the university聮s most successful outreach programs.
Free parking will be available in lot 308 west of the Planetarium.
