CU student actors&nbsp;will present three scenes&nbsp;from the Department of Theatre and Dance Roe Green production&nbsp;<i>They Promised Her the Moon</i>&nbsp;by Laurel Ollstein, against the backdrop of the planetarium dome.&nbsp;&nbsp;<i>They Promised Her the Moon</i>&nbsp;tells the true story of aviator Jerrie Cobb and the&nbsp;Mercury 13: a group of women who underwent rigorous psychological and physical astronaut training but were ultimately denied entry into the space program based on their sex.</p> <p>Associate Professor Tamara Meneghini directs and will moderate a conversation to follow about women in space with the playwright Laurel Ollstein, members of the cast, and&nbsp;Professor of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences&nbsp;Frances "Fran" Bagenal.</p> <p>This event is made possible with the generous support of donor Roe Green through the&nbsp;<a href="/theatredance/theatre/theatre-selected-guest-artists-scholars/roe-green" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Roe Green Visiting Artist fund</a>&nbsp;and additional support from CU Βι¶ΉΣ°ΤΊ's&nbsp;<a href="/nest/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Nature, Environment, Science &amp; A former nominee for the Theatre Communications Group Alan Schneider Award for Directing, she founded the Theatre for Public Works.
