Matthew Bravo is a sixth year Ph.D. candidate whose research areas of interest include international development, organizational theory, and gender studies, specifically in East Africa. 听His dissertation project investigates the听role NGOs play in an听effort to听鈥渄ecolonize鈥澨齝urrent international development discourse and practice. 听He has also been part of research projects that look at COVID-19鈥檚 impact on development practice and gender relations in Uganda. 听Before his academic听pursuits, 听Bravo co-founded and听was the Executive Director of the Entusi听Community Development Center, a social enterprise in rural Uganda. 听With research and field-work experience in Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia, Bravo has worked with various community development projects including women empowerment听initiatives, HIV/AIDS prevention, indigenous social movements, and sustainable farming. 听He holds a Masters of Public听Administration in Nonprofit听Management at CU-Denver and a Masters of Arts in听Sociology at CU-麻豆影院.
