Matthew Bravo is a sixth year Ph.D. candidate whose research areas of interest include international development, organizational theory, and gender studies, specifically in East Africa. His dissertation project investigates therole NGOs play in aneffort to“decolonize”current international development discourse and practice. He has also been part of research projects that look at COVID-19’s impact on development practice and gender relations in Uganda. Before his academicpursuits, Bravo co-founded andwas the Executive Director of the EntusiCommunity Development Center, a social enterprise in rural Uganda. With research and field-work experience in Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia, Bravo has worked with various community development projects including women empowermentinitiatives, HIV/AIDS prevention, indigenous social movements, and sustainable farming. He holds a Masters of PublicAdministration in NonprofitManagement at CU-Denver and a Masters of Arts inSociology at CU-鶹ӰԺ.
