Did you know that in the game of chess there are over 318 billion different possible positions after four moves from each player?! The number of distinct 40-move games in chess is far greater than the number of electrons in the observable universe. Join us as we learn about how chess and science collide, naturally developing our critical thinking skills, expanding our abstract reasoning, challenging our creativity and having tons of fun!


What to Bring:

  • Backpack for carrying personal items and any class materials they will be taking home. 
  • Filled water bottle
  • 2 or more snacks, depending on the child's needs
  • Lunch that does not require refrigeration 
  • All programs spend a portion of each session outside. Please send your child with clothing appropriate for the weather (jacket, sweatshirt and/or rain jacket)
  • OPTIONAL: A mask or any additional Personal Protective Equipment the child will be utilizing.

​Grade Policy: Careful consideration is used to determine grade levels for all camps and classes. To provide the highest quality experience for all students, it is necessary to adhere to the specified grade range for this program.

Cancellation and Transfer Policy: Science Discovery has designed its school year cancellation policy to minimize the number of class spots that are unused due to last-minute cancellations. Cancellations made more than 15 days prior to the start of the class will incur a $35 administrative fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations made within 15 days of the start of the class. In the event that a class is cancelled by Science Discovery, registrants will receive a full refund. Transfer requests made up to 15 days prior to the start of a class will incur a $15 administrative fee. Transfer requests made within 15 days of the the start of a class will incur a $35 administrative fee.
