- Kirk Ambrose聽of the Department of Classics and Rebecca Safran of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology have been recognized with 2023-24 Distinguished Research Lectureships.
- The聽Research & Innovation Office (RIO)聽has opened聽RIO Faculty Fellows 2024 cohort applications, which will be accepted through October 23. Selections will be announced in November.聽
- Gary Henry鈥攈ead of the Office of Contracts and Grants (OCG) within the Research & Innovation Office (RIO) since 2021鈥攚ill transition into the role of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Management and will serve as the Interim Executive Associate Director for LASP Finance and Operations. Ruzzene also appointed Alexa Van Dalsem to the post of Interim Director of OCG. In this role, she will also join the RIO Leadership Team.
- A new NSF-funded center will examine the potential for sound to revolutionize computing, communications, sensing disease in human tissue and more. Massimo Ruzzene, vice chancellor for research and innovation and dean of the institutes at CU 麻豆影院, is a co-PI on the project.

- CU 麻豆影院 is a partner of the CO-WY Engine, one of 16 finalists for NSF's inaugural Regional Innovation Engines competition, which could net winners $160M over 10 years. NSF Engines funds regional hubs that will increase the speed and scale of emerging, critical and use-inspired technology.
- The Principal Investigator (PI) Academy is designed to orient new and early career faculty to research and creative work resources available on campus. A virtual kickoff will welcome new and returning faculty on August 25th, 10鈥11 a.m.聽
- Venture Partners at CU 麻豆影院 has officially launched its first Embark Entrepreneurs in Residence cohort. Embark aims to connect business minds outside the university with breakthrough inventions emerging from CU 麻豆影院's research labs to bring them to market.
- Drs. Allison Kanner-Botan (Religious Studies) and Isaac Javier Rivera (Geography) join 13 other prior Chancellor鈥檚 Postdoctoral Fellowship for Faculty Diversity recipients. Applications for the next cycle open Aug. 1 and are due Nov. 1.
