Starting today, academic program pages in the 2021–22 catalog will open for edits, with a target department/unit review deadline of Dec. 18. (All other catalog pages will open for edits in December.)

If you're the first reviewer in a page's workflow, you'll receive an automated email soon with a link to your approval queue (to access edits). Once you approve a page, the next reviewer in the workflow will be notified that the page is ready for their review.
As you prepare to review the catalog, please keep the following in mind:
- If you review multiple catalog pages, you’ll receive a separate email notification for each page when it becomes available.
- Reviewers listed after you in the workflow will not be able to review the page until you have approved it. Please be mindful of other reviewers in the workflow and plan to edit and approve your page(s) in time for them to complete their own reviews by the target deadlines.

Workflows Updated
To those of you who submitted your catalog workflow updates to us by the Oct. 13 deadline—thank you! The workflows for your pages have been updated accordingly. If no updates were submitted for your pages, the workflows are the same as they were for the 2020–21 catalog.
Editing Faculty Listings & Course Details
While faculty listings and course descriptions are displayed in the catalog, a reminder that you cannot edit this information directly from your catalog queue. Instead, please submit the appropriate request:
- To add, edit or delete faculty information, submit a faculty edit request form.
- To update course information in the catalog, complete a course proposal or revision form. This includes adding a new course, inactivating a course, or editing existing course details (including the course description). Course proposals received by our Academic Scheduling team by Jan. 15, 2021, will be published in the 2021–22 catalog. For additional information, see the course proposals webpage.
Catalog Resources
You can find self-guided catalog support slides on our catalog production webpage (in the "Resources" side panel). For additional support, virtual catalog working sessions are open to both new and returning catalog reviewers. with:
- Accessing, editing and approving your catalog pages
- Navigating course tables, plan of study grids and shared/borrowed content
- Guidance on updating information that displays in the catalog but cannot be edited directly through your pages (i.e., faculty updates and course revisions)
One-on-one virtual working sessions are available by appointment on select dates from Oct. 28–Dec. 16.
Degree Audit Review
A reminder that degree audits will be encoded based on program requirements and plan(s) of study as defined in the catalog. The degree audit team will review all academic program pages (including minors, certificates and graduate degrees). Programs that offer multiple tracks/options/emphases should list any differing requirements accordingly.
Questions about the difference between what to include on the requirements and plan of study tabs?
- The requirements tab should include all requirements needed to complete the program, including course options that meet the individual requirements, minimum grades and/or GPA requirements.
- Use the plan(s) of study tab to provide a sample semester-by-semester plan of study, including general education requirements. Credit totals should equal the minimum required total hours for the degree.
Program Learning Outcomes
As a part of regular program review and ongoingÌýcampus accreditation efforts, the campus will continue to move toward asking each unit to specify what knowledge and skillsÌýstudents will gain duringÌýthe course of a degree program.Ìý
The 2021–22 catalog will include a learning outcomes tab on each degree program page. If your unit has already crafted and approved its program learning outcomes, please plan to include them here.Ìý(If your unit already provided program learning outcomes in the catalog, they will be available on the page for your review and approval just like any other catalog content.)
