Energy Policy
We have been using fossil fuels to meet our energy demands for nearly two centuries. Most of society is built around the use of fossil fuel. Many of the technologies we need to achieve a clean energy transition have been discovered and demonstrated to be effective, but in order to make the transition we need to convince populations of the benefits and value of making this transition. This is where work in Energy Policy comes into play.
Researchers at RASEI work toward helping build a regulatory framework that creates financial incentivization, describes the development of well-paid green jobs, outlines the individual and societal health benefits, and defines how a modern grid will help drive down emissions and provide energy security.
The transition to a clean energy economy is not just based on scientific advances. We have the opportunity to transition to a clean and modern future with a wide range of benefits, but much of this will depend on how governments and regulation shape this transition. RASEI researchers aim to provide a source of independent information to help policy makers make informed decisions.
