Jay Ellis advises student staff for both Hindsight Creative Nonfiction (founded as Journal Twenty Twenty) and the Mission Zero publication Changing Skies: Writing Through Climate Crisis. An active jazz drummer, his first degree was from Berklee College of Music, before an interdisciplinary MA at UT Dallas and a PhD in American Literature from New York University. His books include No Place for Home: Spatial Constraint and Character Flight in the Novels of Cormac McCarthy (Routledge); and edited collections of scholarship on genre: Southern Gothic Literature, and American Creative Nonfiction (EBSCO and Salem Press). His fiction and poetry have appeared in several literary journals, most recently North American Review, NOON Annual, and J Journal: New Writing on Justice. More information at .
