Angela Bryan and Laurel Gibson in the news

CU Psychology and Neuroscience Professor Angela Bryan (Social) and former PhD student Laurel Gibson were in the news, being interviewed by multiple media outlets about Laurel's dissertation which just came out in print in Sports Medicine. (Laurel is now a postdoc at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and getting her MPH from Johns Hopkins as part of her fellowship.) Her dissertation examined the effect of marijuana on the subjective experience of using marijuana and then exercising. Generally speaking, marijuana was reported to increase participants' enjoyment of exercise although it negatively affected their performance, as well as causing them to feel they were exerting more energy when under the influence. The study examined the effects of both CBD (cannabidiol) as well as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive ingredient of marijuana).
