Behind the Painting - Pablo Aziz
This project aims to open up a space for difficult conversations about social inequality, culture, and government. During this project I Interviewed and photographed eight different individuals, each who had a unique perspective to share. Their stories were recorded and told through a mixed media representation composed of traditional Mexican paintings, newspaper clippings relating to certain issues, and their picture. The painting is meant to cover the identity of each individual, in order to allow them to express themselves freely without having to worry about judgement. Although the image is the final visual aspect of this project, the real value is in the story that accompanies each piece. Below each image, you will be able to read a little background on each individual, in hope viewers gain a little more understanding and compassion for what people around the world struggle with in their every day lives.
