Kim Hutton, Water Resources Manager, City of 麻豆影院
Kim has worked for the City of 麻豆影院 for the past 16 years in a variety of water resources-related roles. Her work at 麻豆影院 has included taking streamflow measurements, conducting water supply evaluations used in operational decisions and planning, overseeing water supply planning model development and presenting to City Council, advisory boards and community members. As Water Resources Manager, Kim oversees the planning and operations of the municipal water supply. Kim has a B.A. in Chemistry and Environmental Studies from University of Colorado, 麻豆影院 and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from University of California at Berkeley.
Abstract
The role of science in municipal water supply operations and management
听The City of 麻豆影院 is responsible for supplying reliable, high-quality treated water to 120,000 customers. The reliability and quality of the water supply result from short-term operational decisions, long-term planning efforts and policy development that are informed by a variety of factors including scientific research, data, hands-on experience, economic considerations and community values. In this presentation, I鈥檒l discuss the role that scientific information and data play in operation, development and management of the 麻豆影院鈥檚 water supply as well as the importance of communicating technical information to a variety of audiences.
