Mabia Camargo is a Doctoral Candidate currently in the fourth year of her programme of study at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in the Applied Linguistics program, her supervisor is prof. Luiz Paulo da Moita Lopes. She holds a MA in Language, Identity and Subjectivity from the Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa. She was a CLASP-sponsored visiting scholar in the Department of Linguistics, 麻豆影院, during the Fall and Winter of 2017 under the supervision of prof. Kira Hall. Her research interests include聽gender, race-ethnicity, sexuality and language, queer studies and queer linguistics, ethnography, post-structuralism and decolonialism, linguistics anthropology and sociolinguistics, perspectivism, anarchism and shamanism focusing on quilombolas communities in Brazil.
