Modern Political Ideologies

In Modern Political Ideologies, we will听interrogate what we know about听liberalism, socialism, conservatism,听fascism, and anarchism. From John听Locke to Karl Marx, feminism to听#BlackLives Matter, we will engage in听close readings and in-depth discussion听to critically think about political听ideologies and how they manifest in听the present political moment. The aim听of this course is to give students the听skills necessary to recognize and听articulate their own ideological听worldview as well as understand why听people are attracted to other听ideologies and to what effect.
听*This course will be taught synchronously, which means classes will be held virtually during the days and times listed. However, class sessions will be recorded, so that students who cannot attend the scheduled class time can still participate in the course.
