In Modern Political Ideologies, we willÌýinterrogate what we know aboutÌýliberalism, socialism, conservatism,Ìýfascism, and anarchism. From JohnÌýLocke to Karl Marx, feminism toÌý#BlackLives Matter, we will engage inÌýclose readings and in-depth discussionÌýto critically think about politicalÌýideologies and how they manifest inÌýthe present political moment. The aimÌýof this course is to give students theÌýskills necessary to recognize andÌýarticulate their own ideologicalÌýworldview as well as understand whyÌýpeople are attracted to otherÌýideologies and to what effect.
Ìý*This course will be taught synchronously, which means classes will be held virtually during the days and times listed. However, class sessions will be recorded, so that students who cannot attend the scheduled class time can still participate in the course.
