Safety Alert: Attempted sex assault reported near Macky Auditorium

On Sept. 25, 2016, at approximately 1听a.m., the CU 麻豆影院 Police Department (鈥淐UPD鈥) was notified of an attempted sexual assault.听A police officer was flagged down and notified that the crime occurred a few minutes earlier in the area near the intersection of 17th Street and University Avenue, just north of Macky Auditorium.

The victim reported that she had been walking along University Avenue when she noticed the suspect walking behind her.听The suspect put his arm around the victim.听After the victim rejected the suspect, the suspect grabbed the victim鈥檚 shirt and pulled the victim to the ground.听After the victim fought the suspect off, he听ran south toward Macky.

The suspect is described as:

  • College-age black male
  • approximately 6鈥1鈥 to 6鈥2鈥 tall
  • with an average build
  • a small and shaggy beard and a mustache
  • wearing a CU sweatshirt and听long pants
